Privacy Compliance Policy

Part I: General Provisions

Section 1: Title and Scope This document shall be referred to as the Dejavu Data Protection and Privacy Policy and shall govern the collection, processing, storage, and deletion of data within the Dejavu application, developed and maintained by Learneasy Academy. This policy applies to all individuals who install, register, or otherwise use the Dejavu application and its services. The purpose of this policy is to ensure transparency in how user data is handled while enabling group-based memory capture, sharing features, and location-based services.

Section 2: Definitions For the purposes of this policy: (a) "User" means any individual who installs or interacts with the Dejavu application. (b) "User Information" includes Google Sign-In details (email, UID), profile-related data, and custom user IDs. (c) "Group Data" refers to details of groups a user creates or joins, including group names, membership, and reveal dates. (d) "Moment Data" refers to photos or other media captured and uploaded within the app. (e) "Device & Log Information" includes device identifiers, app logs, and crash diagnostics collected for technical support. (f) "Personal Data" refers to any information that directly or indirectly identifies an individual. (g) "Location Data" refers to geographical position information (GPS and network-based) collected from the user's device.

Part II: Data Collection and Processing

Section 3: Categories of Data Collected Dejavu collects the following categories of data:

  • User Information: Including Google account details and custom user IDs, to authenticate users and personalize accounts.

  • Location Data: We collect Precise Location data from your device. This includes GPS coordinates collected in the foreground (while you are using the app) and, if you grant permission, in the background (via a foreground service) to update your position on the map in real-time.

  • Group Data: Including group IDs, names, member lists, and reveal dates.

  • Moment Data: Photos, videos, or media uploaded to group albums or "My Box," stored securely in cloud storage.

  • Device and Log Information: System performance data and logs, used for debugging and app improvement.

  • Crash Reports & Diagnostics: Technical error reports to improve stability.

Section 4: Processing and Utilization of Data The collected data shall be used for:

  • Enabling secure sign-in and account creation.

  • Facilitating group creation, membership, and memory sharing.

  • Interactive Map Services: To display your real-time location to your friends on the "Friends Map" and to display your friends' locations to you. Location data is uploaded to our secure servers to facilitate this sharing.

  • Storing and managing uploaded photos until their scheduled reveal.

  • Improving app stability and fixing technical issues.

  • Providing customer support and notifying users of service updates.

Section 5: Security Measures Learneasy Academy implements the following safeguards:

  • Encryption of data during transmission and storage.

  • Restricted access to authorized personnel only.

  • Regular security audits and software updates.

  • Compliance with industry standards to protect against unauthorized access.

Part III: Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion

Section 6: Data Retention Data is retained only as long as necessary for its intended purpose.

  • Moment Data is stored until the group’s reveal date (or until deleted by group owner).

  • User Information and Group Data remain stored until the account is deleted.

  • Location Data: Historical location traces are not permanently stored. Only the most recent location update is retained on the server to display your current position on the map.

Section 7: Backups and Access Requests User account details and group data are periodically backed up on secure Firebase servers. Users may request access to their stored data, subject to verification.

Section 8: Deletion Procedures Users may request deletion of their account and related personal data via the official portal: 👉 https://www.learneasy.biz/dejavu-request-account-data-deletion or by email at info@learneasy.biz. Upon verification, data will be deleted from active storage within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

Part IV: User Rights

​

Section 9: User Rights In line with global privacy standards, users retain:

  • The right to access their personal data.

  • The right to correct inaccuracies.

  • The right to delete their account and data.

  • The right to export their data where technically feasible.

  • The right to stop using Dejavu at any time, which ends further data collection.

  • The right to disable Location Services: Users may disable location permissions at any time via their device settings, which will stop the collection and sharing of location data.

Section 11: Amendments This policy may be updated to reflect legal, operational, or technical changes. Users will be notified of major changes via in-app alerts or email. Continued use of Dejavu constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Section 12: Effective Date This Privacy Policy takes effect on 01/04/2025.
